How long before I actually get a job?
Once Drug Screen and Criminal Background check results are complete and satisfactory, associates may be considered for assignment. After that, it will depend on the assignments we obtain and your skill set to make a match.
How long do the jobs last?
Assignment durations vary depending on the client and position. We make placements for short- and long-term temporary jobs, as well as temp to hire.
If it is a temporary job, can I get into another job relatively soon?
Typically, we are consistently busy and are able to keep our associates working. It is important to remember to call in to an Employment Specialist as soon as you know your assignment will be ending so we can keep our eyes open for other assignments.
Does DePaul have Part-Time positions?
The definition of part-time varies from person to person. DePaul Staffing gets very few part-time long-term assignments in. Some short term assignments may be 8 hours in a day, but not necessarily 40 hours in a week.
Do you charge money to find me a job?
No, our services are free for job seekers.
Can I sign up with other agencies?
Absolutely. While we at DePaul Staffing would like to be the service to find an employment opportunity for you, it is best to keep your search options open.
How can I get hired on at my assignment?
If it is a temp-to-hire assignment, you will be given that information when it is presented to you. If a client is interested in hiring an associate, they will notify DePaul Staffing and we will contact you to make sure this is something you are interested in as well.
How often should I call to be active and looking for work?
You must call in your availability to the front desk at least twice a week any time Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Who is responsible for getting me assignments?
Our Employment Specialists on staff make the matches for open assignments with our associates.
Why haven’t I been called back?
Employment Specialists make the best match possible for open assignments. If an associate who is calling in their availability is not being called out on assignment, it is because we have not yet found an appropriate match.
How do I know if I have any PTO?
Any PTO time available will appear on your check stub.
What is the work week?
Monday thru Sunday.
When do I get paid? How often?
Pay for temporary associates is weekly. Our pay period is Monday thru Sunday. Timesheets are due Monday by 1:00 p.m. and checks are available to be picked up on Fridays between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Checks not picked up by 4:00 p.m. are sent out in the mail. We do offer direct deposit and Platinum Pay as options, as well. With both of these options, pay stubs are mailed out on Thursday and monies are deposited into your account on Friday.
Can someone else pick up my check for me?
Yes, as long as they have a signed note from you and have photo ID. It is also a good idea to contact your Employment Specialist and let them know, as well.
