Can I bring personal items & lunch?
We have a refrigerator for lunches. Keep personal items, like purses and backpacks out from under foot and push in your chair when you get up. If you see any safety hazards, please inform an instructor.
Do I need to attend every day?
Yes.
Since the purpose of this program is to help build a variety of skills
for employment, there will be Interpersonal Skills and Job Readiness
sessions that you will be required to attend. You will build resumes,
cover letters, interview strategies, and job search skills, etc.
Can I use Training Center resources?
If you have graduated from one of our programs, you have access to use
the Graduate Open Lab resources in the afternoon. Our Open Lab resource
is available for: 1) Training Center graduates and 2) Staffing
Associates (people employed with our Staffing department).
Do we get breaks?
Standards for a 5 hour work day entitle you to one 15 minute break and
one 30 minute lunch break. If modifications to this schedule need to be
made to accommodate any physical limitations, please notify your
instructor. Promptly return to your work when your break times have
ended.
Can I use the phone, copier or fax?
There is a phone available for use during break times only. Students are
not allowed to use the copier or fax without permission and are to be
used for classroom and business purposes only.
What is the expected behavior to follow?
Swearing, hostile language, or harassment of any kind is not acceptable.
Please be careful with your conversations. There are many private
issues, including politics, religion, and sexual orientation, which
should be discussed outside the Training Center or workplace. Respect
the privacy of other students in the training center, at all times. In
the event your behavior is deemed disruptive or otherwise contrary to
the best interests of the Training Center, you may be terminated from
the program.

be clean and neat, without holes or stains.
Appropriate Clothing includes:

- Dresses/skirts of an appropriate length.

What is the attendance policy?
In order to remain in good standing, 90% attendance is required (in an average month, this would mean missing no more than 2 days). You must call to notify your instructor if you are going to be late or absent for any reason. Please call prior to your scheduled start time. If attendance is a problem, your counselor will be notified, and this may result in your termination. Keep in mind that you will be fired from a job if you don’t show up.
You will be expected to clock in when you arrive, when you go and return from lunch, and when you leave at the end of the day. If you forget to do this, notify an instructor. Treat the classroom like a job, as all aspects of your performance here indicates to us how you would perform on the job.
